Depending on the method of redemption that you select, we will email you an electronic voucher or confirm that your credits have been applied to your chosen account.

Frequently Asked Questions
Any rail passenger journey made within Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) on any train company, for which you hold a valid Advance ticket type, is eligible to earn Rewarding Rail points.
It must be an Advance ticket type. Sometimes called Advance Purchase or Advance Single or something similar.
We do accept Advance tickets bought with a railcard or any other discounts or promotions applied.
Off Peak and Anytime singles and returns, Ranges and Rovers, Season and Flexi Season, Pay As You Go, Oyster and Travelcard type tickets are not eligible to earn Rewarding Rail points (at least for now).
5 points per mile. We calculate the ‘as the crow flies’ distance between the origin and destination stations that are printed on your Advance ticket(s).
Standard versus First Class?
Your class of travel makes no difference to how many points you will earn. Standard, Standard Premium and First Class travellers all earn the same 5 points per mile.
Standard members: your points remain valid for 1 year from the date of travel.
For example, if you earned 100 points for a train journey you took on 01 January 2025, then your points earned from that trip are valid until 01 January 2026.
Premium members: your points remain valid for 2 years from the date of travel.
No. You are free to buy your Advance tickets anywhere you like. This can be directly from train companies, such as LNER, from third-party ticket retailers, like Trainline, or in-person at train station vending machines and counters.
After you have travelled. You can submit your ticket up to 30-days after the date of travel - as displayed on the ticket itself.
After sending us your ticket, you should receive a trip summary within 24 hours. We aim to add earned points to your account within 48 hours of your confirmation that those trip details are correct.
You can initiate a points redemption as soon as you receive the email confirmation that the points have been added to your account. We aim to complete redemptions with 24 hours.
No. We only allow the redemption of your Rewarding Rail points into eVouchers, which can be used to pay (or part pay) for rail tickets for any train company in Great Britain.

No. You earn the same points regardless of whether your train was late and you claimed Delay Repay for that inconvenience.
